San Diego Print House is a PRINT READY company and we require print ready (production ready) artwork for all orders and quotes. If you are unsure if your artwork is “print ready” then we strongly urge you to reach out to your graphic artist. At this time San Diego Print House does not offer design or art assistance and will run all artwork “as is”.
What is Print Ready Artwork?
Print ready artwork is an industry term used for artwork that is ready for production. This means that you are sending us a print ready file set at the exact print size, correct resolution and color output. For more information on these settings, please review the support articles for the print process you are requesting.
Why can’t you quote me based off my mock ups?
We currently run all artwork through our pre-production software which calculates the ink consumption, Ink coverage, density, vibrancy, etc. When you only provide us a mock up, our pre-production software doesn’t know the difference between the artwork and the item it is mocked up on, so it runs the entire image as your art and gives us incorrect pricing.
Sure we could use photoshop and cut the image off the mock up manually but we all know photoshop isn’t perfect and this is where we run into clipping out important pixels, in turn giving you inaccurate pricing. If you insist on sending us mock ups for placement clarification then thats fine but keep in mind, if you do not send us print ready artwork along with your mock ups, your quote will be rejected and we will ask you to resubmit your quote with the proper files (NO EXCEPTIONS)
